BioRePeelCl₃^® BLUE is a two-phase topical TCA Peel with specific action for face, neck and décolleté.

TCA or trichloroacetic acid is a nontoxic chemical that improve the skins appearance.

Here’s all the science-y stuff if you are interested:

What’s In It? BioRePeel Ingredients:

TCA (trichloroacetic acid) 35%

Lactobionic Acid exfoliates. Lactobionic acid is a PHA (polyhydroxy acid) that has similar effects to alphahydroxy acids like glycolic acid, but with less irritation. It functions to gently exfoliate and remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells.

Salicylic Acid increases the amount of moisture in the skin and dissolves the substance that causes the skin cells to stick together. This makes it easier to shed skin cells.

Tartaric Acid moisturizes the skin, stimulates the metabolism and promotes healing. It
also has an anti-aging effect.

Citric Acid exfoliates. Citric Acid has protective antioxidant properties, and it’s corrective anti-aging effects helps reverse visible signs of photodamage. CitricAcid exfoliates the upper layer of dead skin cells to help clean pores, even skin tone and soften and smooth the skin.

Glycine Proline is a multi-tasker. Glycine Proline is an amino acid that improves
moisture retention, increases collagen production, and promotes skin repair and
regeneration.

Hydroxy Proline, a naturally derived ingredient, has potential protective effects on
collagen and elastin. Hydroxy Proline is a major component of the protein collagen and
is thought to play a key role in collagen stability.

Arginine is an amino acid that helps protect the skin from free radicals, increases the
skin’s visible hydration levels, and supports collagen production. In addition to
building protein (collagen), Arginine releases nitric oxide in the blood. This acts as the
buffering agent for the BioRePeel cl3.

Gamma Aminobutryric Acid (GABA) increases the production of epidermal cells up
to 1.4 times compared to the control group. In the dermis, GABA promotes the
fibroblast proliferation and the synthesis of HA and collagen, thus improving skin
moisture and elasticity, making the skin smooth and tight.

Squalane Oil fights off skin-damaging free radicals that contribute to the signs of aging. Squalane Oil also has powerful anti-aging properties as well as anti-inflammatory benefits to help with skin conditions such as acne and eczema.

Isopropyl Myristate acts like mortar to fill in the cracks between skin cells so that
moisture can’t escape. As an emollient, it softens and smooths dry skin which makes
this a choice ingredient for those with dry flaky skin. This is the delivery mechanism
of the BioRePeel cl3 to the dermis.

Allergy meds are made to dry up your sinuses, and that’s great if you’ve got a drippy nose. But that drying up, also dries out your skin at the same time. This is good to know if you’ve got an exfoliating facial coming up, or plan on getting a wax soon.

What do allergy meds do to the skin?

Dehydrate it.

Not only do lots of people get dry mouth and an increased thirst with allergy medications, but they also get thirsty skin, as I like to call it. This can be be made worse by using drying products to cleanse the skin like bar soap, makeup cleansing cloths, and medicated cleansers.

My advice? Opt for a gentler cleanser like Face Reality’s Ultra Gentle Cleanser. What do allergy meds do to the skin?

Sensitize it.

Yeah, so those red cheeks, and flaky nose, could be partly due to the aforementioned dehydrating affect. First comes dehydration, second comes sensitivity. This can be especially noticeable for those with lighter skin, or those with pinker undertones to their skin.

The other thing to be aware of is how sensitizing waxing can be if you’ve started with allergy meds. I’ve seen clients with no history of wax sensitivity have much more redness and irritation after they’ve started a regimen of allergy meds in the Spring and Fall. So be sure to let your esthetician know if you’ve began taking allergy meds BEFORE your next waxing appointment.

So for the good news…

What can you do about the affects of allergy meds on the skin?

Hydration. And of course you need plenty of water and fluids internally, but you also need them topically. So here’s what you can do in your daily skincare routine:

1. Turn down the temp on your skin. Luke-warm water is best for year-round facial cleansing.
2. Ditch the harsh cleansers like bar soap and makeup wipes. Forever.
3. Add some lightly hydrating products into your routine. Like SkinScripts’s Cucumber Hydration Toner. A client fav at the spa. $25 for a 3.3 oz bottle. PRO TIP! You can use this to rehydrate through out the day, even over makeup. 
4. Add a hydrating serum under your SPF in the morning. Your skin will be so happy you did. This simple step will increase hydration levels and plump up those pesky dehydration fine lines. We have several to choose from.
5. And lastly, wear SPF and avoid sunburns. Sunburns cause a lot of inflammation and stress on the skin, which in-turn speeds up the aging process.

Applying too much product can cause rolling.

Being heavy handed with skincare products can actually backfire, and waste your money. No-one wants that. We generally explain how much product to use when clients purchase products from us, at The Hidden Spa.

Layering too many products can cause skincare products to roll up.

Now, I’m not sure exactly what she is using because she’s working through previously purchased skincare, but I normally don’t instruct clients to layer more than 4 leave on products, MAX. For example, after cleansing, we generally recommend 1 or 2 serums to target your concerns, like SkinScript’s Vitamin C Green Tea Serum $45 and Ageless Skin Hydrating Serum $39, or if you really need to whip your skin back into shape, my favorite is AnteAGE’s Pro 1&2 serum duo, $220.

Then eye cream and an SPF makes 4 leave-on products.

What else causes skincare products to roll?

Slapping them on one after another before they are absorbed can also cause rolling. In the morning, I layer my leave-on products after cleansing my skin. I apply my first serum, on my face, neck and chest. Then my second serum, AnteAGE’s EYE product then my tinted moisturizer or makeup with SPF. I do add a separate SPF before makeup on the day’s I’m not working in our window-less SPA.

A buildup of dead skin can contribute to uneven absorption of products.

Exfoliation is a natural part of healthy skin. But if you are dehydrated, this natural process, called desquamation, doesn’t happen as nature intended. The process starts deep in the skin where cells are created, then they move to the top and slough off. Poor health, low fluid intake and using the wrong skincare products contribute to a sluggish metabolism in the skin.
